Laavuvaara Oy is a log house manufacturer in Humppila, Finland. The company was founded in 1978. Over the years, we have served thousands of satisfied customers in Finland and Central Europe. Our main production and operating plants are situated along Highway 2 in Humppila, on a 5-hectare industrial plot that houses more than 4,500 m² of production plants, warehouse buildings and offices. Our branch outlet is situated in Karvila, near Savonlinna, and some of the production takes place there.
Our business is well established, and the majority of our products are exported to Central Europe.

We are easy to do business with
Please pay a €50 deposit for the log house you have selected to our account IBAN FI81 5060 0220 0027 90, BIC OKOYFIHH. In the reference field, please summarise your order in a few words, such as “Deposit for a Joutsen log house”. Please also give us your name and address. Upon receiving the deposit, we will confirm your order in writing and send you the details and architect’s drawings for your house. We can store your house in our large 3,000 m² product warehouse for up to one year free of charge if necessary.
You can also visit us at our factory in Humppila by prior appointment. During your visit, we will show you the architect’s drawings and the different types of timber we use. Visiting in person, you will receive a more personal service. If you arrive from further afield, we can reserve a room at a local hotel on your behalf. After you pay for your log house, its administration, ownership and liability are transferred to you.
Planed heartwood logs (70 x 140 mm) do not split and therefore do not absorb water, go mouldy or rot. By using double T&G logs and a 6 x 50 mm sealing strip, the cabin is warm enough for normal summer use. Residential homes and log cabins suitable for winter habitation are made with materials such as 150 mm internal studding and 150 mm cellulose wadding or other type of wool insulation, which gives a wall heat value of U = 0.23, i.e. the same as that of a 0.70 m solid log wall.
The log cabin is easy to erect. Building the log frame is like building a Lego construction by numbers. Thanks to the assembly illustrations, two strong people can erect the cabin in a few days up to roof level. Our assembly service can help you by telephone if necessary.
